Roadwork Trim to Summerhill Realignment Phase I & Phase II

This project involves the realignment of the existing R158 regional road and side roads between Trim and Kilcock. Phase I included 10 kilometres of single carriageway construction two bridge structures and associated services while Phase II currently under construction completes the link with 14 kilometres of single carriageway and associated services.

OCSC are responsible for the tender and contract management of the project. Both schemes have been issued for tender under the open procedure using the Institute of Engineers of Ireland Form of Contract and National Roads Authority Method of Measurement for Roadwork's.

Phase I was significantly impacted by the presence of two defined National Archaeological Monuments and the need for the design and construction of two bridges. Both Phase I & II incorporated draiange works, service ducting, landscaping, service crossings, public lighiting and accomodation works. The accommodation works that took place included walls, driveways, fencing, railing. associated drainage works, safety barriers & landscaping.

Works are measured under a quantitative and qualative schedule of milestone payments with an average valuation in the order of €1.5 million per month.
