Fingal County Council Offices, Blanchardstown
This site with an area of just under 2 hectares is located at Grove Road between Coolmine Therapeutic Centre and Blanchardstown Town Centre with direct pedestrian access to the shopping centre from the development.
The offices comprise a distinctive four storey over basement office complex in 2 blocks (2 Fingal County Council/2 Commercial). The 4 blocks are linked by a 4storey atrium spine projecting at the other end and enclosed by glass walls and roof supported on a 3D space frame (by MERO).
The buildings are designed as naturally ventilated relying heavily on the befits of the high quality fairfaced precasts concrete frame for thermal mass. Energy efficiency and whole life cycle costing played a particular role in the choice of the exposed precast concrete frame and coffer slabs. Total area approx 16,800 m2.
