Industrial
Bioniche, Inverin, Co. Galway
This project involves the demolition of an existing substandard single storey building to make way for the development of a state of the art modern laboratory facility comprising two storey building that will service as a new production facility for Bioniche.
The structure is simple in form and comprises load-bearing internal and external masonry walls supporting a light weight insulated metal deck roof and precast concrete hollowcore floor units at first floor level. The structure is founded on a insitu concrete raft due to the presence of shallow bedrock across the site.
The site is located near a small river that on occasions is prone to flash flooding from the hilly rock catchment area upstream. Our brief included the upgrading of the flood defenses along the upper site boundary to reduce the risk of future flooding.
