James Connolly Memorial Hospital

The redevelopment of James Connolly Memorial Hospital involves the consolidation of outlying hospital accommodation following from the sale of lands by the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA – formerly Eastern Health Board). The development comprises an overall floor area of 20,000m2 including a new 400 bed Ward Block, Accident & Emergency Department, Operating Theatres, Out Patients Department and Mortuary/Post-Mortem.

The design of the new hospital campus allows for a new access point from the N3 Blanchardstown roundabout across the Tolka River via a new 2 span bridge.  O’Connor Sutton Cronin have been commissioned by the ERHA to design this new bridge.
