Office Development
Site 7 Briarhill Business Park, Galway
Although small in scale, this was a most challenging project carried out by a local developer and architect. The brief was to provide as much space as possible within the site boundaries with some unusual eye catching features. The project architect devised long span cantilevers to meet the brief.
O’Connor Sutton Cronin designed the cantilevers which support extensive glazed elements to be stiff and resist movement using no external cables or columns. The building was modelled extensively using finite element computer software tools to assess the deflections due to imposed loads, dead loads and wind.
Site 7 Briarhill won an award from the AAI - Architects Association of Ireland in 2008.
