Renovations & Restoration
Morpeth Town Hall
The Morpeth Town Hall Development is an OJEC competition (Official Journal of the European Community) which OCSC have recently won.
The project involves a refurbishment of the existing building which was designed by Sir John Vanburgh, one of the greatest English Architects of the eighteenth century. The architects also envisage a four-storey extension behind the Town Hall, in form and plan having a somewhat similar relationship to the main building as a fly-tower to a theatre.
The tower is almost wholly glazed apart from its access lift and stairs, and the lower floors are cut away to expose the back wall of the Town Hall.
This project is currently at Scheme Design Stage.
